When the patient is missing several teeth in a row and the adjacent teeth are healthy, the required number of implants is inserted into the bone, on which a bridge of several elements is then fixed. A maximum of 3 to 4 teeth can be attached on two implants, depending on the prosthetic material, in order to avoid cracking of the bridge due to pressure of it during chewing.
Should the patient be missing more teeth, or they are irreversibly damaged and already need to be removed at the first visit to the dentist, if health conditions allow it and the volume of the patient's jaw bone is adequate, we will install the appropriate number of implants. The volume and density of the jawbone structures will also be determined using a digital 3D diagnostic device.
Following the first visit to the dentist, the patient will return home with fully functional and aesthetically acceptable temporary teeth. After removing the temporary bridge, we will take a digital tooth impression, design the teeth using Digital smile design software and make the final prosthetic work using a CAD-CAM digital device with perfect precision. Implants replace the root of the tooth for life and prosthetic replacements can be easily replaced in case of physical damage.
Only two visits to Dubrovnik are required for complete implantoprosthetic therapy.
The first phase, the so-called implant phase, is the phase of implant placement and lasts on average three to five days. In the first visit, the remaining teeth, if any, are removed and dental implants are installed. After a few days, the stitches are removed and temporary teeth are placed.
Between these two phases there is a period of biooseointegration. This is the period necessary for the implants to grow together with your jawbone into which they are implanted. It lasts from two to five months, and depends on the structure of the jawbone, which part of the jaw is involved and whether any augmentation with artificial bone, sinus lift, etc. has been performed.
The second phase is called prosthetic and lasts an average of three to five days, taking place two to five months after the surgical phase. In the second phase, the dental implants are opened, your jaw situation is scanned, and the final dental bridge is fixed.
