Prosthesis on locators is an excellent solution for edentulousness when the patient, for health reasons, has a vironit skeletal prosthesis with 12 teeth attached to a small number of implants, usually 2 to 4.

Advantages of prosthesis with locators:

Four implants need to be placed into the upper jaw, while only two need to be placed in the lower jaw. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and does not require major surgical interventions such as bone augmentation or sinus lift. After the first visit, the patient can leave the clinic with temporary teeth, and after the process of integration of the implant with the bone, locators (small balls) are attached to which a vironit skeletal prosthesis is inserted. For hygiene or damage, the prosthesis is easily removed and is the most affordable implant solution for the edentulous jaw. If the patient wishes, more implants can be placed in the jaw afterwards, and with a simple procedure, the semi-fixed prosthesis can be converted into a fixed one.

Protocol in implant prosthesis with locators

Only two visits to Dubrovnik are required for the whole Implant prosthesis with locator treatment.

First visit

In the first visit after detailed examination of the patient's , the remaining teeth, if any, are removed and dental implants are installed. A minimum of two implants are placed in the lower jaw and 4 in the upper jaw.

On the second day the patient comes for checkup.

On the third and fourth day the patient is free.

On the fifth day the patient arrives for stitches removal and tryout of temporary prosthesis that he'll use for the next few months until implants are ready for the second phase.

Between these two phases there is a period of biooseointegration. This is the period necessary for the implants to grow together with your jawbone into which they are implanted. This lasts from two to five months, and depends on the structure of the jawbone, which part of the jaw is involved and whether any augmentation with artificial bone, sinus lift, etc. has been performed.

Second Visit

On the first day, a scan is taken for the final prosthesis. Implants are opened and locators are installed to enable the perfect stability of the prosthesis.

On the second and the third day patient is free.

On the fourth day the patient arrives for the final prosthesis tryout and it is placed on the locators.

Should there be any complication related to the material or implant procedure, the Dental Center Župa will bear the costs of flights, accommodation and repair work. The patient is obliged to maintain hygiene and act in accordance with the accompanying medical documentation and the doctor's recommendations. Should this not be followed, warranties will be invalid. The Župa Dental Center and its doctors are not responsible for the general health of the patient.
